Get to know Kassie Pen
Kassie is a 32 year-old oil and mixed media painter residing in New Jersey alongside her growing family of her beautiful wife, her beloved daughter, two pup companions and one bundle of joy on the way.Her passion for art ignited at an early age as she eagerly sought to express profound, unspoken emotions.Using the art as a way to fight through inner conflicts that played out in a tug of war between her beliefs systems and sexuality, it became her source of strength and guidance to fearlessly challenging norms and pushing boundaries through her creativity!
As a young adult, her adventurous spirit urged her to explore beyond the confines of her cultural background, leading her on an exhilarating journey to incredible places in her life like Barcelona, Rome, Florence, the stunning French Riviera, and the Art Biennale in Venice! Each destination enriched her appreciation for art and deepened her belief that immersing oneself in diverse cultures brings us closer to our personal truths. Each new way of seeing the world broadened her own outlook on life. Her travels nourished her spirit, filling her artistic well with a wealth of experiences that beautifully influence her current work.
After graduating from the Milan Art Institute with a major in Fine Art in 2018 she made her way to the bustling streets of New York City where she proudly showcases her creations in varying exhibitions. Kassie passionately believes that she creates the art she does today due to her personal experiences and ever evolving spiritual path.
"I'm a soul that feels deeply and my inspiration comes to me in waves that flow from dreams, allegories and my lived experiences, these don't just inform my art but are the essence of them!" she exclaims. By embracing vulnerability and allowing herself to be seen, she cultivates a sense of freedom in her work. Driven by an excitement to create art that bridges the spiritual and material worlds, she hopes to channel ancient wisdom and evokes the unseen divinity within us all! Her artwork transports viewers to mesmerizing realms of avant-garde brushwork and layered symbolism, producing transformative visual narratives that awaken and empower!
"Art is a profound language, giving voice to unspoken thoughts of our spirits. My work is to bring recognition to our complex human experience. Highlighting our capacity to transcend our limitations, rising above the ordinary, to remmber our wholeness. Through my art, I strive to empower and inspire humanity to embrace their identities and claim their truths."
